ICBC Physiotherapy at a Glance
- Eligible claimants may access up to 25 pre-approved physiotherapy treatments during the first 12 weeks after a crash.
- A physician or nurse-practitioner referral is generally not required to begin the initial pre-approved treatments.
- You will need your ICBC claim number and your Personal Health Number.
- ICBC’s published fee schedule effective April 1, 2026 lists a standard physiotherapy treatment fee of $97 per visit. This is ICBC’s published rate, not Vancouver Physiotherapy Hub’s clinic fee.
- Coverage, treatment counts and any patient payment depend on your individual claim and on ICBC’s rules at the time of treatment.

How ICBC Direct Billing Works
We bill ICBC directly for approved physiotherapy, so you do not pay that portion up front and claim it back yourself.
There is no user fee or copay for ICBC-approved physiotherapy at our clinic. You pay nothing out of pocket for those visits.

Your First Appointment

After the First 12 Weeks
Once the initial pre-approved period ends, further treatment may require authorization from ICBC and supporting clinical documentation from your treating providers. Your physiotherapist can prepare and submit that documentation. ICBC decides whether ongoing treatment is funded.
If further treatment is not funded, you can continue privately, and extended health benefits may apply. See extended health direct billing for how that works.

Do I need a referral?
A physician or nurse-practitioner referral is generally not required to begin the initial pre-approved treatments under an ICBC claim. You may still need a referral later if ICBC requests supporting documentation for extended treatment.
How many treatments may be available?

Is there a user fee or copay?
No. There is no user fee or copay for ICBC-approved physiotherapy at our clinic. We bill ICBC directly.
Can I book without a claim number?
You can call us before your claim number comes through and we will help you arrange an appointment. We will need the claim number before we can bill ICBC directly, so please bring it as soon as you have it.
Can I choose my physiotherapist?

What if I was injured as a pedestrian or cyclist?
ICBC coverage is not limited to people who were driving. Pedestrians and cyclists injured in a motor-vehicle crash in British Columbia may also be able to open a claim. Call ICBC to open a claim, then call us with the claim number.
